Settling In

All of the kids simply adore Ethan. They are always asking to hold him. Adam especially can get upset very quickly if someone else is holding the baby and he wants to, but he sure loves his little brother.

I just wanted to leave a little post right now and let everyone know that Ethan finally decided to join us. He was born at 4:41 am this morning. He weighed 7 lb 1 oz and was 20.5 inches long. I don't have the capability here at the hospital to post any pictures, so I will be updating tomorrow with some cute pictures. Catherine is sooo glad that he has hair!!! Stay tuned. :)

Catherine and I thought the same thing when we saw Adam outside and just had to get a picture. It still makes us both chuckle when we look at it. By the way, he bolted right after going to the bathroom and this is where we found him playing with some bugs on one of the rocks.

Hike to Gunsight

I had the chance today to take Alex and Ryan on a hike to Gunsight (highest peak above Clarkston). It was nice to spend the day with them and we were verrrry tired when we got done this afternoon.

Summertime

It has been quite the busy week. The kids got out of school last Thursday and will be out now until the middle of August. This will quite an adjustment for them as well as us. Our elementary school has been on year-round school since Alex was in 1st grade and this will be the first time that summer break will be more than 3 weeks. Alex starts junior high this fall and will be on a traditional schedule while Ryan and Jaime will still be on year-round.


Chris and Jessie came up from Arizona this past week. We've had the chance to see them several times, which has been nice. The Lott and Newman families threw a surprise 30th birthday party for Melissa at Maddox last Saturday. Needless to say, she was a little shocked. We also got together at mom's for Memorial Day and then had a little get together with Melissa and Johnny's family and Chris and Jessie last night. They'll spend the next couple of days with Jessie's family before heading back to AZ on Sunday morning. It was great to see them.


Catherine is headed to Iowa tomorrow to see her sister for 5 days and she is taking Jaime. Her sister, Amy, is working on her PhD at Iowa State. It'll just be us 4 bachelors at home until late next Tuesday night.


Also, I just thought I would throw out a shameless plug for my business. For those who aren't aware or forgot, I started my own accounting practice a little over two years ago and am still in the "building up clientele" stage. A large portion of my practice involves consulting for banks along the Wasatch Front, but I also have small business clients where I help with monthly bank reconciliations and filing the necessary payroll IRS forms, etc. If anyone knows of a business that may need any accounting help, I would appreciate any leads.
